Although Charles F. Huot cut his teeth playing drums in the Quebec jazz scene, he found his niche once he gravitated towards songwriting and producing. While working for Apollo Studios, he managed to place a number of songs in nation-wide ad campaigns. In the meantime, his solo outfit, Winter Gloves churned out three albums and played a slew of high-profile gigs after catching the attention of Paper Bag Records. Charles went on to release a series of well-received singles under the production alias Dear Frederic, many of which landed in ads and TV Shows. In recent years he’s gotten the chance to write alongside Darrelle London, Hannah Georgas and Adriiana. He also served as a co-producer on Charlotte Cardin’s Big Boy EP, which was put out on the Cult Nation label which he founded alongside Jason Brando and Alex Auray. Upon it’s release, the EP debuted at number one on itunes Canada and has since racked up millions of plays on Spofify, marking yet another milestone in Charles’ illustrious career.
