Cadence Weapon

Cadence Weapon aka Rollie Pemberton is a rapper, producer and writer based in Toronto. His albums Breaking Kayfabe and Hope In Dirt City were both shortlist nominees for the Polaris Music Prize, the Canadian critic’s award for best album of the year. In 2009, he was appointed Poet Laureate of Edmonton, making him the literary ambassador of Alberta’s capital, his hometown. He’s toured the world playing festivals such as Glastonbury, Roskilde, Primavera Sound and Lollapalooza and he’s shared the stage with artists such as Public Enemy, De La Soul, Questlove, Diplo and Mos Def. Most recently, he was the narrator on the VICELAND TV series PAYDAY, has hosted lectures for Red Bull Music Academy and is putting the finishing touches on his fourth studio album.
